Audition Brief

Who can Audition?
Seeking youth performers in a range of ages from 10-21 years with enthusiasm!

Roles may be played by young artists of any gender.

MYP encourages performers of all abilities.


How to Audition? 

All sections of the initial auditions will by VIDEO SUBMISSION ONLINE

(takes the stress out of the nerves of auditioning!)

Complete the audition registration link provided below and follow the prompts

Audition materials will be sent to you via return email

*Simply follow the directions to upload and 'ta da' done!

What is required?

(Ensure these directions are followed directly)
 

1 Film in a light clear space with plain background

2. Use landscape orientation not portrait if recording from a mobile phone.

3. When recording film 
     Acting reading: mid length (head to waist)
     Vocal: mid length (head to waist)
     Dance: Full length (head to toe)

4. Film on a straight angle - facing direct to the camera

5. Allow 3 secs before you begin and 3 secs after.

6. Do not use headphones or hand held microphones

7. Record with the music playing for singing and dancing submission

8. Label/name each file
       eg Your name_songname_1or2 / or your  _dance movement or accomplished or tricks /or your name_acting.

9. Load to the dropbox links provided 

10. Auditions close 


Script reading (Acting)/Vocals/Movements & Dance

 

*Acting Requirements

All auditionees must submit one (1) reading in natural accent from the script materials provided.

See character breakdowns for character and direction.

*Vocal Requirements

All auditionees must submit two (2) audition pieces.

One (1) ballad and one (1) up-tempo song in the style of the show that demonstrates your vocal range.

Piano accompaniment or backing track is requested for audition submissions.

NO acapella or tracks with vocals will be accepted.

Songs should be 90 to 120 seconds long.

*Dance/Movement Requirements

All auditionees must submit either movement OR dance
If you have any accomplished Circus/acrobatic moves, you are encouraged to upload those on separate file provided

 

Wear appropriate activewear, jazz shoes or soft shoe
 

Call Backs 

When: Thursday 22nd April from 7.30pm (times to be advised on invitation)

Where: MTStudios 2/67-69 Intrepid Street, Berwick

Successful & unsuccessful auditionees will be notified by email by 29th April

(Stage mothers, 'don't call us, we'll call you') 
 

Additional Note: This is a non-professional production - all roles, characters and production team are volunteers.  To support production budget, Cast Performers are required to pay a production show fee of $350 by scheduled date (prior to cast announcement).  This includes rehearsal materials & supplies, Cinderella souvenir t-shirt & programme, Digital download photography package.  All cast members are to provide their own make-up (excluding special effects), underwear, hosiery and footwear as directed.  Costume and makeup details will be provided during rehearsal season.
